This is my guitar. The one I play all the time. My favorite. Only I can not really find any solid info about it anywhere online.
It is a Takamine F-363D. Made in Japan. Date Stamped September 6 1978. Ser No. 72092040
It has the 'lawsuit' logo on the headstock. It has a solid top. (I can tell by looking at the sound hole edge and seeing the grain running all the way thru). Dark Tobacco Sunburst.
Anyone have any info on this one?

The guitar was manufactured Wednesday, September 20th, 1972. It was the 40th guitar made that day.
Takamine have always used the serial number date system first two numbers are the year, next two the month next two the day and last which guitar off the line it was. The date stamp is likely to be an import date or wholesale date
Actually your guitar is a wee bit older. This is my guitar. The one I play all the time. My favorite. Only I can not really find any solid info about it anywhere online.

I haven't seen a D model for sale but 363 and 363S mid 70's to early 80's go for anywhere between $250 and $350US so your not gonna get rich quick Andy..A 37 year old guitar. Nice. Any idea of what it might be worth? (And no, its not for sale)
Takamine says they never made this model, but here it is. What do they know? LOL
I would not sell this guitar anyway. It sounds as good if not better than a Martin and a couple of Taylors' I know. This particular model is not listed on any blue book site or any archive site. Its a ghost. That makes it a very 'spiritual' instrument, and being a Minister, I can't let that go now can I? LOL The best part is, it was a gift from a dead man.
It just makes me wonder.
