Anyone on here try to build one of these. I am tempted with this one:
http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Kits/Acoust ... r_Kit.html
It is not cheap, but the parts seem to be quality as do the wood used. Personally
I would consider it a very challenging thing to do. For myself I would want to
learn the full process before placing the order. Which is possible here. They
give you the instructions free before you order. So you have a opportunity to
see what kind of project you are taking on. So I will go figure out that out.
I have several projects which are less ambitous I want to complete first. So I can
learn some of this, and made some interesting mods to my existing instruments.
But anyone on here ever attempt this type of thing or know of someone who did?
Thanks,
David
Guitar kits
Will they fix it if you screw up...nope...they might tell you how to fix it. But that would be about it. Yea you don't build one of these to save money. I read one review by a guy who bought a budget kit for about $100 and had a hell of a time getting it to line up and go together. Only to find the same guitar on sale in target ready to play for about $109.
With this kit you are not saving money but going for good wood, good instruction and the freedom to make your own choices. This site has pretty good detail on these and other kits: http://web.mac.com/magads/Site/Home.html
An interesting read to say the least.
