Some more questions:

Who is Chas and is it true what they say about him?

Why did Bear REALLY have to get hand surgery?

Is Matt a real person or just Neil throwing his voice?

Ongoing visits to the vet will have him sorted very soon' so he can finger pick as well as Andy

Is Matt a real person or just Neil throwing his voice?

Okay, I've taken all the suggestions from this thread and compiled them into the list below. Thanks to all of you that provided feedback!!!

This list is by no means comprehensive but is a starting point to get new and/or beginning players to find basic information. I'm hoping more skilled players will also find it useful.

Please take one last look at it and make any changes you think we need. After this last review I am going to recommend to Matt that we set up a section with some/most/all of these ideas.

I'm not sure who is going to answer all these questions or if we just provide links to the various discussions we've had. I think it would be good to provide some answers in narrative form and then use links for a deeper discussion. More thought needs to go into this.

The list:

General Guitar Questions

- I’m a complete beginner, how do I get started?

- What strings should I use?- How do I change my strings?

- How do I change my strings?

- How much/how long should my fingers hurt?

- What guitar should I buy?

- How much do I need to spend on a guitar to learn?

- What’s a good guitar to learn on - Nylon or Steel string?

Guitar Theory

- What are scales?

- How do I learn/remember scales?

- How do I play leads/solos?

- Should I learn music theory and if so how much and what?

- What chords are in the key of C or other keys?

- Neil says that some minor scales are the same as a major scale, how can that be?

- Please explain the chromatic scale and the circle of fifths relationship

- What are/how do I play in alternate tunings?

- Is there some book/lesson material I should buy in addition to the TG lessons?

- Why does Neil say do it this way and Bob the local teacher says do it that way? Who is correct?

- What order should I learn the songs in?

- Is there a ranking of songs easiest to hardest?

- How do you get Neil to answer my questions?

Wow we do ask a lot of questions. Well done Rick, Karma for you. Good on ya mate.. The idea of links is good but a narrative might provide a quicker and cleaner way of response. I'd leave the list as is and once its running if some aren't used then maybe delete or amalgamate with another close question

I think it should be a thread that has a general discussion of the topic with links to other threads for more detail.

Thanks very much Jim! I alerted Matt by PM to look at this list and see what needs to be done to create the permanent topic. One idea I had was to break up the sections and let active forum members create short narratives and find the links to prior discussions. Neil or Matt could bless these narratives and they would then be permanently placed under the topic.

I think asking Matt and crew to answer this many questions just isn't going to happen because of the workload. I'm thinking this oculd be a great member project.

What do you think?

Rick
