I would choose the 312 due to the fact that I have short fingers and
since the 312 has a shorter scale it might be easier for me to play.
I have a Taylor 710CE but am thinking of selling it for different one.
Whatever I do get, it will be Taylor!!!

I had a 710 that I sold to my best guitar buddy. Dumbest thing I ever did. He won't give it back because now he's in love with it. LOL! I'd think long and hard about giving up that one. The 710 is one of the sweetest dreadnughts I've ever played and the reason I'm in love with Taylor guitars to this day! But of course I bought something else I thought I had to have.

The 312 vs, 314 is purely about body and scale size. I have a 314 that's pretty small for me but it sounds great. The 312 is just too small for me to hold on to. It would look like a ukulele on me! LOL!

Cheers! :cheer:

I want to see Suzi and Bear on stage doing a duet: Bear gets the Yuke and Suzi the biggest Taylor (just to keep us on topic) dreadnought there is! :-)

She can play my Taylor 855 12 string. It's a jumbo and man can that thing throw the sound! Now that would be funny! :cheer:

There's a great review for the 314-CE on theguitarpage.co.uk
The extra money is definitely an issue to consider though.

Funny how these old discussions sometimes come back. As a VERY happy owner of a 312, I think it's a perfect-sized guitar. Of course, I'm a fairly tiny person. I also own a Taylor 614, and the GC size really is a better fit for me than the GA size. The difference is slight, but I do notice that after I've played the GA for a while, then go back to the GC, that the GC just fits in my arms a bit nicer. I still love my 614, but I don't think I'd buy another guitar any bigger than a GC ever again.

Suzi- I think it just depends on how big you are. In my collaberation with Jerry on Kansas City I'm playing my Taylor 314ce and Chas thinks it looks like a ukulele! Even my jumbo 855 looks tiny when I hold it!

I can see that for a lady the 312 would be just aobut perfect! :cheer:
