Hello all!
So i am wondering what brand and type of strings everyone likes on their acoustic and why you like them. I have been playing on and off for 25 years and have always used DAddarios on my electric and acoustics. I never switched to anything else. Currently I am playing mostly acoustic and thanks to this site I am back to playing approx 2hrs a day. I'm using EXP16 Light phosphor coated bronze strings.
Anyone care to chime in??

Thanks

Deuce

Right now I am using Martin phosphor bronze Light strings on my acoustic guitars. I plan to replace my bridge pins with real bone bridge pins and see if I hear a difference. Otherwise, I am pleased with the Martin strings. They have a nice bell like ring to them. Anyone have a comment on the Clear Tone strings? Might consider trying them out one day.

Deuce,

I haven't tried them all, but I gave DR, Elixir, and D'Addario a pretty even shake, and I'm now a big D'Addario fan.

I have a big box full of D'Addario EXP's (11 and 16), and a big box of EJ's (11 and 16 again). I honestly cannot tell the difference between EXP and EJ in sound, feel, or life. I can tell the difference, however, at the cash register. I think the EXP's would resist corrosion longer on a sporadically used guitar, but I think the expense of the coating gets wasted on heavily used guitars.

Welcome to TG. Hope you have as much fun here as I have.

No problem. That's what comes from being a member for so long. LOL
