Would a Metro by any other Nome make you play as sweet?

I just tried this metronome business for the first time, and WOW! I really thought it would be just one more thing to complicate trying to play this stupid wood box! But what a difference it made to my playing! My right hand held the steady up and down motion like never before. And much to my surprise, it added strange sense of calm and creativity to my playing. And I hardly felt rushed (sorry Geddy) at all! Who knew?

So is that "normal"?

P.S. I really like this on-line metronome

It has quite a selection of less obnoxious beats.

No Wilson, that isn't normal! Most people struggle with a metronome, at least at first. The fact that you fell right into it bodes well for you and your learning the "wood box"! Congrats and keep it up! :cheer:

......"So metronome would, were it not metronome call'd, retain that dear perfection which it owes without that title."

Welcome to the club, it works for me too! :)

Congrats Wilson! I struggle with it, as I always feel too much pressure to keep time. I have not gotten relaxed with it yet. So, for now I fight the good fight and it is getting better.

Most people call the metronome, 'That evil ticking monster'.
That is awesome that you found its real name right off! Good for you!
