Hello all,the bleus,wich kind of bleus do you wanna learn???

When you wanna learn bleus the first time, where do we start with??--I believe its some basic stuff and after this we go into the ragtime('m i right??).

I never played the bleus,listen almost my whole live to it but never played it so i must start from the basics and then build up, for my self i wanna stay acoustic.....

Willem- You have to feel the blues!! Neil has a short lesson on the blues in the TARGET section. Check it out. There are lots of good resources on the net to help you learn the blues. It's really fun to learn. I just wish I had more time.

Wasn't that a Johnny Cash line.... you get rhythm when you get the blues....

Probably by learning some of the simple riffs that musicians like Muddy Waters used. Starting with that would open up different styles and allow you to experiment with blues sounding songs. I've never tried playing blues guitar either, but it would be a blast to learn some of the classics.

There's a lot more people learning the blues in this economy.

The beauty of playing the blues is that you're usually dealing with a 3-chord progression. Try Em - A - B7. There's been about, oh, 52 million blues songs using those chords.

Try Mississippi John Hurt, Big Bill Broonzy, David Van Ronk it you want some cool finger picking blues. I am working on some now.
