Yeah, see, that's where I'm trying to get... don't really have a go to song cause I don't feel like I'm good enough to do such a thing quite yet. There's a couple that I can play well, but don't like to sing in front of anyone yet, so it's pretty boring at my current playing level. Maybe I worry about it too much... Maybe I need to post one on here and try it out on you guys first! :P
I hear ya. I know the ones I listed, and feel great playing them and singing them to myself all the way through, but in front of others......different story. My wife says I should not be so nervous as I do just fine, but can't help the nervousness.....lol

I will get there someday though, cause the folks on this site have really made a big difference in my guitar life and my confidence is growing more and more. :cheer:

Sweet Home Alabama...everyone knows the words and it's fun to play.
Almost there with Hotel California, the B7 chord is still tricky at times.

I have two or three praise and worship songs I can play pretty well, but I do not measure up to my own standard. Someday I'll be good enough to play most anything that I come across. Doesn't have to be perfect, just good.

"Go to" songs by memory have to be The Boxer, Moonshadow, Brown Eyed Girl, With or Without You, The Lion Sleeps Tonight (yeah, I know, but I like going to the falsetto part!), Scarborough Faire, Sounds of Silence, Teach Your Children, Nights in White Satin, ...
"Wish I could go to" would be Classical Gas, From the Beginning, and most anything with lead playing. I should practice more and work on theory.
Great thread.

I usually start with

Romanza (from Tarrega)
Minstrel Hall (Blackmore's Night)

Encore:
Un Dia de Noviembre (only the first part, Leo Brouwer)
Is this The World We Created? (Queen)

What I'd like to play:
Capricho Arabe (Francisco Tarrega)
Adelita (Francisco Tarrega)

My 'go to' songs used to make people GO TO the next room-- or even across the street!!

Now, not as much.
