Anyone heard of these? The local Craig's List has one listed; I've never heard of them! Do know they're made in Canada; but that's all.

Barb, in the few reviews I have read about A&L guitars. They are an entry level guitar for the most part. Many of the reviews have suggested rather than buying an A&L for $300, save a little more and buy a Seagull. I hope that helps.

Barb- they're made is Princeville, Québec so they only play French music! That's kinda limiting if you want to belt out a couple of verses of In-a-gadda-da-vida!! :silly:

Here's their website:

I believe they are part of the Godin guitar group - well known Canadian luthiers.

they are good entry level guitars. If you can get your hands on one for $100, get it.

Lasido makes A&L, Godin, Seagull, Norman and LaPatrie

The Ami makes a great travel guitar

Barb,

My local guitar store carries them as their low-end brand offering, so I've played various A&L models a few times. I was mostly unimpressed, but keep in mind that I'm playing them side-by-side with Taylors and Martins.

Hi Barb, I am a french (from Quebec)guitar player ;) . In my formal life as a guitar player I had a Norman which was extremely popular then. I do not know about the A&L brand. In general Godin makes up to mid range plus type of guitar. The ones I tried were very enjoyable

@Lavallee; good to hear. It probably is worth checking out. As far as I know; guitars were probably invented in France - it does sound like a French word :)
