A couple of questions about Tab and PVG books:
Are the books written by the artists themselves to give a true account of how to play their songs correctly, or are they at least checked to make sure that whoever writes them is doing so correctly?
Does anyone know some websites that have 'official' tabs for Guitar Pro because there are a lot of bad tabs out there!
Thanks, Matt
Guitar Pro and PVGs
I know what you mean about awful TABS! I don't believe TABs are typically written by the authors. I think with all the free TAB editing software out there anyone can take a stab at a song. I think finding a good one is just hit or miss. But....one site I've found that I think is pretty good is:

Good luck.

What is PVG?
The problem with many tabs is they were written by people that do not know how to transcribe properly. Many sites offer a rating system on the tabs so you can get an idea of which ones are more accurate.
Guitar Pro has at least 2 sites that are designed especially for GP users. Some of the tabs are great, some are trash. It only costs a download to find out. Play the tab in GP to hear it and you will be able to tell if its what you are looking for.

I knew it would be something like that. LOL
Yeah, the vast majority of PVG and professionally produced sheet music books are very accurate. They have some mistakes, but not very many and not very often.
A really good series is the 'Guitar Tab White Pages'. Hundreds of songs per book. Very accurate tabs.

Hi Matt most tabs by publishing companies are reasonably accurate, not written by the artist though and some don't even get artist approval, its part of their contracts to release sheet or tab music books. NOt alwasy as accurate as you might think. There are a few INternet sites that have good Gpro tabs one which I used to write for is
http://www.gprotab.net/
They used to be amongst the best tabs around before they were posted a group of senior site members would vet your work and if it wasn't up to speed it was rejected, quite tough too!
Other sites I have used are :
http://www.powertabs.net/
http://www.tablibrary.com/artists.php
Now these are Powere Tabs, but GPro converts these very easily.
