Well... Guitar is the "other instrument" for me.
I'm actually a drummer...
Have fun with that one...
If you could play another instrument what would it be?

Good questions. I always thought about the Irish Flute or the Banjo...until I recently saw the Bajo Sexto in action. But living in Switzerland I would need to play something more Swiss...so probably the Swiss Cow Bells would be my next instrument.

Ukulele (very portable - like having a guitar that got shrunk in the wash). Then piano (a little more difficult to carry around).
If I had the time (and the money so I didn't need to work):
- ukulele
- mandolin
- flute
- harmonica
- bass guitar
- trumpet
- piano
- sax
- lots of percussion
- ...
Really I'm with Abilio on this one, I'd like to play everything.
But, Fred can keep the bagpipes and the piano accordion (my step father played it - that's enough for me).
Dream on...
I'll stick to guitar for now, but a ukulele may be in my near future. They're SO cute!

Piano for sure.
Maybe bass guitar.
I started with piano, so actually it would be returning. Just lack of space for one currently. What I found so interesting about the transition from piano to guitar was the training each hand to do something different, but needing both to make a good sound. That really helped in the change-over to guitars.

I would probably pick pedal steel guitar but these things aren't cheap or easy either. The pedal steel intrigues me with the sound and the difficulty to learn, what with multiple fretboards (on some models), pedals, and levers that must be considered when playing it. Almost seems like you gotta be an octopus to play one. I have a Dobro now and can play that but I must admit not very well (right now it is preventing the case from being empty). I think the pedal steel sound works well not just with country music but rock too. Anyway, it's definitely on my list! An alternative would be the lap steel, I guess that would be cheaper and similar to the Dobro in playing techniques.
