The thread regarding the future of popular music made be think about how I am always looking for new bands to listen too. Love all my old stuff but there really is some good new music out there. Let's start giving recommendations as we find good new stuff. I'll start
The Answer
Try the album "Every Day Demons"
Try the song "Demon Eyes" for a sample.
Sounds like you are back in the 70s with a bit of an update.
Don't know how to embed anything into this message so you'll have to look them up yourself.

Nice idea!
I have a huge, eclectic music collection, so some of the stuff I listen to is probably a bit strange to some folks. For starters, I would recommend the following:
1) Band - Minus the Bear
Album - Planet of Ice
Song - Throwing Shapes
They have 5 or 6 albums plus some LP's and mixes. I have found just about all of it enjoyable. Good driving music....

Great idea for a thread mate.
Sticking with one, I would highly recommend the Shins. American Indy band from LA. Perhaps they are very well known to many of you and I am wasting a recommendation, but I suspect enough haven't heard them to make it worth the post. I like this tune enough to have covered it on TG:

My favorite album this year (so far!) has been Together by The New Pornographers. "Crash Years" is one of many great songs off of this album:

Way to go Tovo! I really like them alot myself. As a matter of fact, the other day I was thinking "New Slang" (their most famous ditty from the movie Garden State) Would make a real cool lesson!
The album with "Phantom Limb" is growing on me also...
