Hey Wiley - If you use the headphone amp, does it make any difference on the impedance of the cans? I would think that the amp would take that out of play.

Head Phone Question
One final thought for you, Kevin. With whatever headphones you use, be very careful, it is still an easy way to damage your hearing. Don't use them for long periods of time. I know many old disc jockeys that are almost deaf now.

[quote]All I know and understand is a 'line out' or 'direct out' jack does is send signal. You plug a set of cans into the 'line out' jack and you hear nothing (excluding some feedback/hiss/static at high volumes, perhaps). [quote]
Okay so if you use the line out jack, you have to use the headphone amp in order to get an audible signal, right?
I checked my amp last night and not only do I have line out and line in jacks, but I also have stereo left and stereo right jacks. I also checked the specs and it did not say what the impedence was for the headphone jack.

Hi Kevin!
Well you've already had a couple of suggestions as well as good information, my suggestion would definitely be a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (250 ohm), it's closed and actually a studioheadphone, the sound is just terrific, whatever instrument or music you're playing or hearing! I'd buy another one immediately if I had to!
I'm curious wich one you will buy eventually!
Good luck on your search!
