Hi Gang,

I mentioned on last week's News that I was not sure where we were going this week. I finally decided to tackle some songs by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the first three of which are seriously under represented here so far. There are four lessons coming, each one associated more with one of the four than with the group, one from each of them, all 1970 or before, all from different albums, and none on the Top 100 Recommended Lessons. I would love to see everybody's guesses with this info, mostly for thoughts on additional lessons, but also to see if anybody happens to come up with the right four (quadfecta?)

If we get a winner, there will be the usual prize- basking in the glory of being lucky.

Start your engines...

Neil

Well, lets see .

I think at some point I requested Helplessly Hoping. Then there is The Marrakesh Express. Southern Cross would really be a good one. One of my all time Fav's is Love the one your with. It meant more to me when I was 18 than it does now. Another good one is 49 reasons.

AND oh yeah, who can forget the ever famous WOODSTOCK?

So there, take that Neil

I won't even hazard a guess but I'll be excited to see whatever you decide to put up. I would love to see some old Buffalo Springfield stuff.

May be guilty of a little wishful thinking here, but I'm going to go with Guinnevere (Crosby), You Don't Have to Cry (Stills), Marrakesh Express (Nash) and Helpless (Young).

I am gonna say...even though I'm sure I'm wrong.

1.) Guinnevere
2.) Deja Vu
3.) Woodstock
4.) Treetop Flyer

EDIT: DOH! I see here on wikipedia my guesses are wrong... two on the same album. The top 100 rules out another.

Well Neil you have just made my weekend. My roof may collapse with all the snow and ice (already leaking) but a CSN&Y week is just what the doctor ordered. Hmm 1970 and earlier huh? Well I'm sure I'm a bit off here but here it goes.

Helplessly Hoping (I've been trying to find a decent TAB to this for weeks)
You don't have to Cry
Guinnevere
Deja Vu

OK lets go for 4 out of 7
Almost Cut My Hair
Music is Love
Carry On

Regardless of what the final 4 our I'll be very happy.........

Here are my guesses

Carry On from Dejà Vu

Guinevere from Crosby, Still and Nash

Southern Cross from Daylight again

Just a song before I go from CSN

Oh man, I am already happy!

1 Traid (Crosby)
2 49 Bye byes (Stills), this is really wishful thinking....or Helplessly hoping.,..Wooden ships?
3 On the way home (Neil Young)...although that's on the same album as Triad, Cowgirl in the Sand??
4 Cathedral (Nash)...that's really wishful thinking as well....

What the heck, I don't know....I'm sure that the songs you've chosen to teach will definitely be interesting guitarwise and I'm sure I'll learn them all anyway!

Like I said, am already really really happy about it!
