Help me rebuild my record collection

It's a hypothetical:

I lost all my records. Not one left. I need to rebuild my collection and I would like suggestions. Can you all give me (I'll try to make it easier) 3 must have albums?

I have already been down to the record store to make a start. Here's what I came home with:

1. Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
2. Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen
3. Unplugged - Eric Clapton

But given I listen to music constantly I know I will soon be wanting more. What should I get?

Awesome topic Tony!!! I was just thinking about this the other day. I think it was Chris's post about something to the effect of if you could only save one thing or something like that. Welll I started thinking and really I would want to keep my music collection. There is many a great album in there as well as some I'd rather forget. However to your point here I'd say the following in no particular order.

1. Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles

2. Deja Vu - CSN&Y

3. Exile on Main Street - The Rolling Stones

I'm sure I could easily get into an arguement with myself here if I thought longer on this but these are the 3 albums that come immediately to mind and that is what I think you were after.

Tony,
If I can only name three, today they should be:

Yes - Yes Album
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
CSN - Allies

I hope you like them :)

Well I see you've already gotten some albums, so I won't give you one you already have! :P

1 Umma Gumma/Pink Floyd
2 Four Way Street/CSN&Y
3 Rattle and Hum/U2

Wow, that wasn't easy as usual!

Tony:

These are always such hard questions. I make the following assumptions:
1. I'll try to name something you did not buy today or has not been offered up yet in someone else's post
2. I'll try to stay away from compilations or greatest hits

So, with those parameters, I will offer up the following three that I have had several copies of each due to physically wearing them out (mostly because they were in either cassette format or vinyl when I first got them).

1. Jackson Browne - Self-titled debut (sometimes known as Saturate Before Using) - Released September of 1971
2. Whitesnake - Come and Get It - Released in 1981 - before they were ever popular here in the states
3. Boston - Self-titled debut - Released 1976

I know there are a lot of gret albums out there, but these were very influential to me and my love of music.

Well, you can't go wrong with anything by Oingo Boingo or Bananarama...lol!
(sorry Tony just in a whacky, kinda out-there, sleep deprived sort of mood.)

Tony-

Anyone who freely admits to being a Bruce Springsteen fan is probably beyond all hope!!

May I suggest Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, Mylie Cyrus just so you have something comparable to go along with Born in the USA?

Good luck mate, it won't be easy!! ROFLMAO!! :silly:
