Hello dear guitarfriends.

Today i boucht for my self a new 12 string guitar.
I have playing on Yamaha APX 700 and CPX700,a Crafter,Ibanez and the Martin D12 X1 AE.
The Martin have a good sound, louder than the Yamaha APX or CPX.
Oke i know here are more people with a 12 string guitar, and my qwestion is over the G string.
That thin string is also tuning 1 octave higher than the normal G.
The man from the store tels me that the thinnist g is not a strong one.
What is the best way??? other tuning and a capo on the first posision???.

cheers..............From Holland Anton

Hi Anton thats nice,,,I noticed that they tuned down a half or whole step that slacken the strings and its ease'r to play,,but then for the right tuning you must capo it up,,,well I understand it that way...

Cheers....happy playing

Willem.

Hi Anton, congratulations on your new Martin 12 string. Good move!
I would tune down 1 half step. It takes a lot of pressure off the G-string and you get a nice janggly sound and you can always cap 1 to go back up to normal. And the fist thing you have to try out on a 12 string is to tune to open D and try that out... fabulous sound!

Congrats Anton! What a nice guitar. I have been eyeballing 12-strings for a long time now, but not in the budget for a while.... :)

Can't wait to hear it in action.

Congratulations, Anton. The Martin Stratabond neck is the strongest neck in the guitar world. There is a benefit to the sound with that neck as well. I won't go into the science of it here, but the tone of the middle frequencies is more clear. I have examined a few Martin X1 guitars, but no 12 strings. Like others said, I can't wait to hear this!
