Is there a psychiatrist in the house?

Hi all

I'm not sure if I need help or not.
The problem is that when I went on to my favourite lessons within Target I noticed that all the songs I have saved were either sad or dark songs.
For example I have:

"Wonderful life" Black
"Paint it black" Rolling stones
" I still can't say goodbye" Chet
" Dust in the wind"

I have noticed for a while that I favour songs that are of this type and I have developed an interest in folk music which is usualy about something depressive that related to the hard times that they lived in.
Anybody else have these symptoms or is it just me and if so should l seek help. :(

I think that if I do need help the only cure I can think of is to balance this out with happy songs and is there any you would recommend that are already on target to give out as medicine. :)

I think any psychiatrist worth his or her salt would tell you these two things: 1) It's your mother's fault; and 2) Quit worrying about it and just enjoy the music.

Looks like our time is up. Please pay the receptionist on the way out.

You're not along.

My song lists are pretty much exclusively sad and normally slow songs.

Your only option is to add a heavy dose of blues songs to your list

Good point Mark about the blues.
I was looking too balance it out, I think the blues might make it a whole lot worse or does that mean were normal?

Back in the day, when I sang Karaoke with reckless abandon, the KJ would always have to squeeze me in between happy songs because she said I was a "downer". My songs are slow and sad, too.

Hemmingway's stories usually ended in death. Wonder what he would have sang?

You don't need a shrink. Or LOTS of us need a shrink.

What they hey! Let's all get shrunk. Let's write a sad song about getting shrunk.

Somebody stop me.........

You know, I just think maybe the slower sad songs are usually the most interesting both musically and lyrically. I tend to like a lot of those types songs as well - not exclusively - but still a lot of 'em.

Yep, I am right there with ya, Chacho! (I'm in sad shape I need a doctor & a shrink I guess?) lol!

No I think Two Cat, hit the nail on the head...a lot of us are in trouble. I like a lot of sad, kinda dark broody stuff.

For me, moderately sadder songs often seem less artificial and, then their bubble-gummy counterparts...and actually make me feel better when I am down & out.
