For me, any mass-produced guitar is made offshore, so the point is moot.
Theoretically, if all else were equal (playability, tone, workmanship, aesthetics, etc.) I might prefer a locally made instrument over an offshore one.
But then, you know the difference between "theoretical" and "practical"? Well, theoretically they are the same...(groan, engineer joke)
