"Hey, George. Were you telling the truth or just being nice when you said you really liked 'Octopus's Garden'?"

George was a huge Monty Python fan, he probably did like it!

Recently I watched the epic documentary on George Harrison, "Living in the Material World". Went for over 3 hours (208 minutes) but I loved it. In it, Eric Clapton was asked what he would say to George if he had the chance. "Fancy a cup of tea" was Clapton's reply.
What would YOU say to George?
I've watched that documentary three times, really worth watching, I highly recommend it.
It's real eye and ear candy ... but in the end, the "candy" comparison seems disappointingly right : not enough nutritional value, empty calories.

Of course, there's so much good to be said of Harrison, and the film has lots of that.
There are also a few hints and vague allusions now and again about George's darker side,
and only enough so as to avoid portraying him as a saint, so there are no really stubborn stains here ... almost a white-wash.

I just wish that there was more light shed on his real personality in this documentary.

What would I say to George ... you mean in one sentence, Tony ?

Here goes:
"Hey George, did you finally ever get to meet that guy you were always talking about ... Harry Krishna ?"

Just a reminder ... George mortgaged his house to finance Monty Python's "Life of Brian" ... he was game :)
