I'll chime in to say that I bought a Skylark electric guitar from a local music store for 120 euros...it's kinda' like a BC Rich Mockingbird copy. It looked so cool that for 120 bux I went for it.
I've never played it at loud volumes at rehearsal or anything like that where it may lose some clarity....but home on a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 401 combo I was so surprised at how good it sounded right after a Gibson Les Paul Studio, that I was bordering on being blown away. Don't misunderstand....it's not a high end recording guitar, but rather a quite useable rehearsal guitar...and who knows maybe even live. I'm sure a pick-up change would help a lot. It sounds much better that any considerably pricier Epiphone that I've heard.
I've read that there are problems with the Floyd Rose set up on certain models, but mine has no Floyd and maybe that's why the sound is so workable.
