My holiday gift to you all is this gem I just found on YouTube. The quality is unbelieveable! For you Beatles fans here, this is something I bet VERY few of you have heard. I even wonder if Neil has heard all these songs (with such good quality). "Two Of Us" is particularly good. Happy holidays!

Side Two is played first....
Let It Be
Don't Let Me Down
For You Blue
Get Back
The Walk

Side one....
Get Back
I've Got A Feeling (snippet)
Teddy Boy
Two Of Us
Dig A Pony
I've Got A Feeling
The Long And Winding Road

Very cool indeed Daryl! Isn't that the band that backs you sometimes? I thought they sounded familiar!

Daryl,

Thanks so much for posting this. Some absolutely terrific stuff in here -- and it's a reminder of how wonderful this band was when they weren't being Phil Spectorized. I think Paul is at the top of his game on I've Got a Feeling, channeling Little Richard and taking it to places even Richard couldn't tread. And I really enjoyed the very early version of Teddy Boy, despite John's attempt to turn it into a square dance. I've never been able to stomach The Long & Winding Road, but hearing it without the massive string section and choir of angels at least makes it tolerable.

This is the Beatles at their most divisive, angry, and distracted -- and yet they can still produce music that endures. I've often wondered how different this album might have been had they brought in George Martin instead of Phil Spector. I can only imagine that it would have been even better.

Wonderful stuff, Daryl. Like stumbling onto buried treasure, hopefully discoveries like this will continue to pop up.

These stripped-down versions make me even more motivated to learn the tunes.

Thanks !
Pierre
