Electric string change

Broke the A (5th) string on my electric. Wondering if anyone changes only one string or do you change all?

On my acoustic, I seem to wear out all the bronze wound equally. Usually need changing before they break, and I go with a whole new set. The rest of these nickel-plated electronic strings don't seem to be all worn out, yet.

Your thoughts?

You broke an 'A' string? Damn! lol

At any rate... I buy strings by the case and change them often. By often, I mean once a week for my main players; twice a month for the others. Even a guitar that sits around, without being played, needs a string change every few weeks.

Hydro:

I always change the entire set if one breaks. I used to change just the one in particular, but found that the other strings often failed shortly after the first one (especially the higher strings if I am doing lots of bends, or hard strumming). Just figured while I have the thing down, I might as well pull all of them off and give the fretboard a good cleaning while I have it opened up.... :)

Hey Kenny and Jason,

Thanks for the advice. Looks like I'm off to change the whole set.
