SO surprising there's no bidding happening yet. :) Right!?! :woohoo:

Isn't it sweet of them to only charge $9.75 for postage too. B)

Maybe Chas gets it. ... Maybe Eric touched it or something and the seller forgot to list that. I'm guessing it's .... Rare....

Or maybe there's a genie inside...and once purchased and played in the right way the genie is set free to fight the good fight towards saving people living in low lying areas that will no longer exist once the effects of climate change do their thing.

Chris - Haha! Yep guilty as charged. I'm hoping that the perfect nylon crossover for me will come along at a ridiculous bargain basement price. I've seen some nice Takamines and Yamahas, Cordoba. But none close enough to me to actually play them (without traveling for at least three or four hours) and... No ridiculous prices.

... Well....til I saw this ad.

EBay really has expanded what it's selling. It must have the auction houses very worried.

At its core, I guess I find it difficult to belive that people shopping on EBay would have $75,000-$100,000 to spend on a guitar. Or that anyone would. But, I'm never going to have that sort of 'play' money, so I guess I'm never going to appreciate the value of owning a vintage Fender that is full of magic.

At an asking price of $75,000 you would have thought they could give you a little more information about it's history, provenance, a sound file, more photos.... But maybe the description alone is enough.

It's presented in a way that really isn't that different from guitars with an initial bid of $100 or $1000.

Actually, after reading Allen St Jame's book, "Clapton's Guitar", I have a better understanding of why some Martin's go for a huge price (include some that Clapton auctioned off to raise money for charity).

Willem - bought any $100,000 guitars lately? :p

Still thinking of selling my Taylor NS714. But if you pop over here it's a bit more than a few hours drive

And this topic leads into the old groaner: " I'm terrified that if something happens to me, my wife will sell my guitars for what I told her I bought them for".

Hi David!

Haha! :) I'm sure your wife would be horrified at the thought of what you'd get for her jewellery too. :)

Well If I had the money I'd love to pop over to Isreal and check our your slightly quiet guitar. :)

Actually the other day while perusing guitar porn I came across a NS54CE (Canadian cedar and mahogany) in the Uk and thought " Oh that's nice"! But I haven't played that configuration so who knows whether it would work for me.

Still dreaming of a bargain. Which is much easier on my wallet. :)

I'm selling a heap of stuff on EBay that I don't use anymore at the moment, so I might even work up to a good down payment at some point. :)
