I'm just moving a couple of guitar goals/resolution posts from the 2015 resolutions (non-guitar) thread.

Here's one of Lynn's:

This is great topic ...

Naturally, I wish to become consistent in my guitar practice routine.

If you have non-music resolutions, or others that you don't think quite fit here in the goals thread, you can of course post them in the resolutions thread which is here

Shel- Mine's really easy. I resolve to take my guitar out of the closet, then out of its case and then play the damn thing once in a awhile!!! Is that so unrealistic?

Happy New Year!!

Bear - we've talked about this a fair amount on the forum, so I hate to sound like a broken record. But, maybe you could try putting one of your guitars on a stand in a room that you spend a lot of time in, perhaps one that experiences less changes in temperature and humidity.

For me, guitars that are away just don't get played, ones that are easy to pick up and start playing, do get played. But, I get that Sydney is pretty kind to guitars and lots of you live in places that can be pretty harsh.

Something to consider.

Good luck with your resolution.

Shel

1) Play every day even if I get home late and don't have time. Even if it is only for 10 mins.
2) Play at an open mic at our local music venue.
3) Learn a song by someone other than the Grateful Dead ;)
4) Have a major break through, quit my job and take the show on the road.

3 out of 4 would be good.
Happy New Year

Bear, my friend, no good guitar should ever live in a case or closet! Shel is so right (goes without saying!), guitars should live on stands in well frequented rooms and be picked up and hugged and stroked and even picked on regularly.

Thanks Bob and Jeff,
If the world tour doesn't work out, let's at least play at the open mic night at IGC 2015 together.

Late to the game (as usual)

1) Nail Big Blind Bluesy (Pat Donohue)
2) Nail Never Going Back (Lindsey Buckingham)
3) Work on finger-style blues
4) Play guitar with more people
