This was a completely frivolous purchase, which makes it the best kind. One of the side effects of work craziness is good cash flow, and I'm a firm believer in rewarding myself when I done good.

So, this happened. It's a 2016 Gibson ES-335 Studio. I like it better than the Standard because, not only is it cheaper, it doesn't have a pick guard. I doan like pick guards. :silly:

The owner of our local music shop is a long time family friend of my in-laws and they give me family-level discounts on the stuff I buy there. I can't divulge what he let this go for, but it was a sweet, sweet deal.

I don't like pick guards either... non on any of guitars...
