Local brew pub hosts an open mic every Thursday night, and I sign up for a short (3-4 songs) set every week I can get away and they have an open slot. It's a small-ish place, and it's more like a coffeehouse gig with beers than playing a typical bar gig.
I've brought my Gibson E-339 and a vintage style tube (valve) amp a couple of times, but most times I just bring Rose (my PRS acoustic) along. It's a relaxed and fun venue and the people are great.
Here's a view of the pub as seen from the stage area:
I'll string along a couple more images in followup posts since the forum doesn't seem to play well with multi-image posts.
Where I've been getting in my local open mic time

Yes, I try to keep it varied as I can within the limits of my repertoire. I do a lot of Buffett, some Dr Hook, John Prine and Harry Chapin, one by Sting, some Town Pants, John Denver, stuff like that.
My planned set for this week is:
• I Wanna Learn A Love Song - Harry Chapin
• Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen
• Breathe in, Breathe out - Jimmy Buffett
In other sets I've done Me & Bobby McGee, Bama Breeze, Angel from Montgomery, A Couple More years...and so on.
I've got a few other artists in the queue that need some work; I'm also working on some acoustic-y arrangements of tunes by The Who, Guns N Roses, and Led Zeppelin that will take some time before I'm ready to roll them out. Having a set time to get stuff ready helps keep me motivated and disciplined. My repertoire binder grows weekly.
