There was a time when lots of members collaborated on songs, even on the same project.
Who remembers one and can you find a thread for it? Think back years. Maybe.... 2009 or 2010... maybe. I have no idea what to even search for at this point.
Thanks guys! I’ve been watching those videos on the bus, with an idiot grin stretching from ear to ear. Good stuff and the forum at it’s most fun.
I’ve been watching some of the other early collabs. at the very start of the collaboration threads. I think lots of people have learned a few tech skills since then, but the fun definitely shines through. It’s great to see some TGers who were a big part of the community for so long who we haven’t see for a while too.
I tried to post the actual video windows in here, but I can’t work that out. Not enough coffee yet this morning.
So what’s this all about? I’m thinking it would be great to start a big community collaboration project. Of course!
So the first question:
What would be a high energy fun song that lots of people could get involved in?
That is one of my faves Ness, loved your piano part and Kev and Jay's playing.... and having Alessandra sing back up!
I found Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me and posted it here last night but its gone today so, here it is again.
It had 25 pages and 3000 clicks before the song was published...
Ahhh, and the latest meeting of the Mutual Admiration Society is in session.
Oh Sweet One was a fun project. It started with MarkM posting what he called a ‘Open G Noddle’;which Daryl challenged us to add to. It was gorgeous and more than a noddle; it was a full song track; I just recut the track a little to match the structure of the song that grew from our collaboration.
I’d really love to see more members posting ideas, challenges and the beginnings of their creative pursuits; and or the results. They often encourage and inspire the community to either get involved or have a go at exploring their own creativity.
The ability to share this sort of thing is one of the best aspects of the TG Forum.
I’m off to find the answering machine challenge thread. That was another fun one.
Unfortunate some of the videos have disappeared. But scrolling through the thread you’ll still get a sense of the silly shenanigans that the forum used to encourage.
here’s Stuart’s response to the answering machine challenge.
