New Eagles lesson this week from Nesh - Train Leaves Here This Morning.

I just ran across a shot of Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady playing live from a few days ago and it reminded me of what a huge influence they were on me with the first two Hot Tuna albums. It is unbelievable that they are still doing this in their 80s! I messed around with bits of Keep Your Lamps Trimmed And Burning and Hesitation Blues, after starting with some of my tune Whodunit (as a preface to today's heavy theory talk), and also played a bit of Jetstream near the end.

In between I spent quite a bit of time talking about thirds, particularly the seven 3rds in a major key, and how it can be beneficial to think of them as what steps they actually are in the major scale. For example: the first 3rd in the key is notes 1 & 3, the second third is notes 2 & 4, etc. Then expanded that into triads. Please let me know if you are able to parse some of that.

And maybe more of that next week...
