October 28, 2011

This week we implemented a lot of changes to the TG website, some of
which we had been working on for a long time, and others that were
requested by our members. The Home Page is quite different now, as
well new top menus to make it much easier to get to your favorite
places.

Our Target members were treated to some classic songs this week. We
started with a couple that had their roots in the 60s- John Lennon's
Jealous Guy and Donovan's Colours, where we opted for the original,
British spelling. It seems to bring a classy element and better
distinction from many other titles. The lesson went into simple ways
to play the song, including the way Donovan originally did it in an
Open D Tuning (transposed to E by using a capo at the 2nd fret). We
also took at Janis Ian's At Seventeen, which also included an Open
Tuning version.

There were student reviews on uploads for Still The Same by Bob Seger,
and the Heart fingerkiller Silver Wheels, as well as a couple of
interesting Fly On The Wall videos. One was mostly a lesson on sixth
chords that started with an innocent question about Find The Cost Of
Freedom, and the other was a follow-up to Sandy working on Yesterday.
Quite a few good tips came out of each of those, check them out when
you can.

That was most of the happening here the weekend of Halloween.

Stay Tuned & In Touch,

Neil
