Hi Everyone,

Here is you weekly video wrap up for this week......

http://www.totallyguitars.com/blog/tota ... -2012.html

Enjoy!

February 3, 2012

This week we stepped back into the world of Slack Key Guitar with an
arrangement of Paniau, a song written by Helen Desha Beamer (Keola’s
great-grandmother) about a house on the Big Island belonging to her
friends, Al& Annabelle Ruddle. It is played in C Wahine Tuning (C-G-D-
G-B-E). We also continued some recent themes with Elephant by Damien
Rice and Day After Day by Badfinger.

We had a couple Fly On The Wall videos that focused mainly on theory-
one with Ed exploring using triads as a basis for lead playing, much
like in our series called Lead Secrets, and another with Fred learning
about secondary dominant chords, The latter also looked at a great
tune by Marty Robbins called Devil Woman.

Jack van Breen took us back into the vintage world of Rickenbacker
guitars with demonstrations of a couple old lap steel guitars referred
to as the Frying Pans. You have to take a look at those.

The other big news was the discovery and reassignment of some early
video I did called Quick Tips. These are a bunch of short clips
covering a myriad of important things all guitar players need to know.
They can now be found under the Tips, Techniques, Theory & Styles
menu. I even learned a few things I had forgotten!

Until next week…

Stay Tuned& In Touch,

Neil

Wow, a 13 yr old is learning the Ventures. Thats awsome.

And Neil, if your going to do some work with Donovan, maybe some Lou Reed would be in order. Hey Babe, take a walk on the wild side!!!!!!!

PS, if it comes through, thats me sbutler, in the middle, at 13 working on a Venture song. What comes around, goes around eh?
