Hi Everyone,
Today's addition to The Listening Post is about a band that put the boogie in the blues, Canned Heat
They were featured in two of the most prominent rock festivals of the sixties: The Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967, and the Woodstock Music and Art Fair in 1969. Read more about them here...

Another great listening post.
You put some amount of time into telling us everything about these bands.
It's amazing what you get in a can.
Thanks
Dermot

Thanks for all the info on canned heat.....just finished watching last week the dvd of Canned Heat - Live at Montreux Jazz Festival, 1973...This was a performance that caught them at the high point of their career......also featured a performance by the group with Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown..Ken

Hi all, I recently picked up a used copy of this Canned Heat 'Live in Oz' CD. It was recorded in Australia in 1981, and features Walter Trout on lead guitar, and Adolpho "Fito" de la Parra on drums.
For whatever my opinion is worth this is a great party album. The band plays with tremendous energy and puts plenty of love into these tunes.
