Hi Everyone,

Today's addition to The Listening Post is about a band that put the boogie in the blues, Canned Heat

They were featured in two of the most prominent rock festivals of the sixties: The Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967, and the Woodstock Music and Art Fair in 1969. Read more about them here...

Thanks Steve for another interesting segment.

I remember a friend of mine used to play Canned Heat all the time back in the "old days"

Steve

Another great listening post.

You put some amount of time into telling us everything about these bands.

It's amazing what you get in a can.

Thanks

Dermot

I watch the clip at Montreux too. I think it was superb. Hi Will, what lesson would this be perhaps?

Hi all, I recently picked up a used copy of this Canned Heat 'Live in Oz' CD. It was recorded in Australia in 1981, and features Walter Trout on lead guitar, and Adolpho "Fito" de la Parra on drums.

For whatever my opinion is worth this is a great party album. The band plays with tremendous energy and puts plenty of love into these tunes.
