Hi Everyone,

The Weekly Wrap Up is ready!

Enjoy!

This week there were some interesting questions bantering about on the
Forum. Folks asked about things like the numbering system and starting
points for Pentatonic patterns, as well as ways to identify key
changes. I took a bit of News time to address those, along with a
brief review of a concert I went to this week. It was Yes and Procol
Harum, two of my favorite bands. Maybe I will get to a more detailed
account of this later.

Songs and lessons released this week into the Target Program included
Fairport Convention’s version of Percy’s Song (Bob Dylan), and Pinball
Wizard by The Who. Interestingly one of these has been on our
Recommend A Lesson list for over three years and the other for about a
week. Keep those requests coming in as you never know what will grab
my attention and get bumped way up in the queue.

Our Fly On The Wall series has been recently Jerry Garcia heavy with
lessons covering his arrangements of Russian Lullaby (along with David
Grisman) and Peggy-O, an old folk song Jerry was fond of.

Student Reviews this week went into Who’ll Stop The Rain by Creedence
Clearwater Revival, and Something In The Way She Moves by James Taylor.

And on the Trivia side… I brought back a feature I had forgotten
about for quite a while, the Puzzle Of The Week. This stemmed from a
transmission problem in my car where replacing part of the fluid
multiple times was a recommended fix. Check out the question, put your
thinking caps on, and weigh in with your answers.

Don’t panic if the News does not appear next week, details in the
video… but will be back in two at least.

Stay Tuned & In Touch,

Neil

Well Neil, we'll some how get by without you if you leave. It'll be hard, be we'll do it. But you could do the news from NY, just like you did in Colorado. You might not have a forest fire in the background, maybe a mugging or something. :)

Have fun.

Neil: I put in the request for "Percy's Song" because in last week's news, you played a chord-solo version (without naming it) and then said something like "this isn't in the recommend-a-lesson list, but if it shows up there...." So, not a coincidence, exactly, since as soon as I heard that, I recommended the lesson. And on Monday (or Tuesday?), there it was!

You're all over it Walt, thanks for picking up the cue. Just for that, another one of your requests might be along soon, along with Fields Of Gold, Wrapped Around Your Finger, and myriads of other songs I've considered, teased, alluded too...

Too many burners but too much fun as well.

There's a certain irony to the puzzle question about Neil's automatic transmission. I go by the handle wrench - as in Mr. Goodwrench. I was the automatic transmission specialist at Buick dealership in the late 70's.

Neil, the answer is in your PM. And while this method is OK to replace an acceptable quantity of fluid, I strongly recommend replacing the filter.

Love it.... ;)

Neil:

Thanks for including the answers to some current questions in the forum. I think you eluded to that in a recent response, and I thought it was a great idea to do that in your weekly wraps. :)

Cool! Though I must have made said recommendation in the forum or something because I think "Percy's Song" is the only one I have formally recommended. I can't guess offhand what you're referring to, but that will just make it that much cooler when it happens.
