Hi Everyone,

The Weekly Wrap Up is ready!

Enjoy!

This week we had a few Target Lessons, some Student Reviews, a Fly On
The Wall lesson, a continuation of the Music Gear Review on the Pre-
Sonus StudioOne, and a very insightful essay from Steve Rose on Gram
Parsons and his contributions to bringing the worlds of Country and
Rock together. Today's News also includes answers to some questions
posted in the Forum. Keep 'em coming!

The Student Reviews covered Cinnamon Girl and Your Song and the Fly On
The Wall lesson got into the Bob Dylan song Girl From The North
Country, and particularly how adept Dylan is at rewriting his own
songs, keeping the lyrics generally intact but taking a different path
for the chords, rhythm and melody.

The big songs added this week were Ghost Riders In The Sky and Lyin'
Eyes. As much as I have a long list of lessons I plan to get to, these
were ones that took over and cut to the head of the queue for some
random reason. I hope everybody enjoyed them hope to keep the
surprises coming.

See you next week,

Neil

Neil,

I just wanted to let you know that I'm enjoying the part of the news where you answer questions from the forum.

I have to admit, that I don't get to a lot of new lessons and so I don't know whether there are any new techniques or good illustrations of music theory in them. Besides just listing the new lessons you've released, I would love it if you could also point out WHY you've turned the song into a lesson. It would be great if you could let us know during the news WHY it would be a good song for us to learn, especially if it's a good example for mastering a certain technique or getting our heads around an element of music theory.

Your answer for Dermot's question about 'People Are Strange' has made me curious and I'll probably give it a look now. Besides that it is a cool song of course.

It's just a suggestion.

Changing the subject, are there any competitions or other community rousing activities on the horizon?

Thanks

Michele
