The Weekly Wrap Up is ready!

Enjoy!

This week the News took on a very different character, thanks to a
very different character. Our very own Matt Williams happened by and
crashed the shooting party. It turned into more of a mini TG Live than
the usual Weekly Update. I think we got to a review of the week’s
releases and an answer to the question on the Forum about how capos
alter how you think about chords to a song, but I’m not really sure.

In case I missed the new content, we had Target lessons on My Maria by
B. W. Stevenson and later Brooks & Dunn, and Lady-O, a hit for The
Turtles but one that had been written by a very talented songwriter,
Judee Sill. We also had Fly On The Wall lesson covering My Maria and
Shady Grove, as done by Jerry Garcia and David Grisman, along with a
Student Review looking at Don McLean’s Vincent.

The rest of the shenanigans included Matt asking me to play a bunch of
songs I couldn’t remember, as I recall, and us throwing out some of or
ideas and plans for the first TG Retreat/Conference/Seminar/Workshop/
Hang-Out/Reunion, or whatever we decide to call it (Camp is out of the
running for various reasons).

Enjoy the lack of discipline and focus and next week we hope to be
back to your usual programming.

Neil

Well now, wasn't that fun!!!!! Good to see ya Matt. Glad you have a producer to keep you on the straight and narrow. (SIT UP MATT)..

Lots of good news there. Too bad ya'll like secrets so much. :)

Neil,As for the really cool song you were playing at the end, before you were so rudely interupted (even the new producer couldn't stop him), I'll love to hear/see more of it what ever it was.

Thanks Guys.

I *think* I can name that tune in not quite three and a half notes: "Fast Car," by Tracy Chapman.

To answer your question about the banner: Once the "hula skirt" video is completed and Andy has signed on the vinyl line, he will be sending it to me in Arizona. So far, I do not have a request from anyone to be next in line. So, please let me know who wants it after me...

Bart, you should send it to the TG Mother ship to get re-fueled or something. Neil would really love to see it.

Great suggestion Scott! That sounds like such a great idea, so that is what I will plan on doing. Then Neil can send it back out to the next TG member.

It would be awesome to have it back for the very 1st annual TG Camp. So, whoever ends up with it at the end of August / early part of September, maybe you can plan on getting it back to San Jose for the event?

BTW, it was a really good weekly recap this week! I enjoyed seeing the fun that goes on behind the scenes.

A yearly Banner Landing would be cool!

That lucky thing has covered a lot of territory and played with a lot of TG members. I would like to do that as well.... ;)
