Somehow today's News was way more scattered than usual, I guess I had too many things I wanted to talk about
and kept jumping around trying to get them all in, in a condensed and focused manner. I can't say that happened
but I did manage to address a bunch of stuff from the Forum as well as get to the week's new material, eventually.

Topics included stem directions in notation, GuitarPro files, fingering options for B chords, and misunderstood lyrics.
I also talked a bit about a couple of my favorite artists, Jim Croce and Arlo Guthrie, who happened to appear in a VH1
Behind The Music about Jim. I highly recommend that everybody check it out.

In case anybody missed the new stuff, it included Invisible Sun by The Police, Longer by Dan Fogelberg,
Photographs And Memories by Jim Croce and Vanessa's lesson on Jason Mraz' Love For A Child. We also managed to
resurrect a Fly On The Wall Country Blues Lesson with Lynn and a Student Review on Dan Fogelberg's Leader Of The Band,
looking a a great upload by jcrocket.

On a side note, by trying to keep this one short and cover a bunch of things I think I managed to set a new record for length
of a weekly update. I will try harder next week to cut it down.

Till then-

Stay Tuned & In Touch,

Neil

Great recap Neil. I was on the road this week but I think I kept up.

And you had to end on the song that I decided to start learning while my shoulder has been under construction. The first section was a snap. Part B, not so much.

And oh by the way, we are almost the same age, and had the same reaction at the loss of Jim Croce. Still alwasy wonder "what if".

A nice update, Neil ... not everyone could manage a weekly speaking engagement, and you do a fine job of it.

It sure is interesting that you are shining the spotlight on Jim Croce.

The VH1 documentary you refer to is great ... very touching.

Got me to thinking about junkyard dogs (as in "Leroy Brown") ...

Having encountered a few, I would suggest that Rottweilers are the ones you least want to meet ...

Most breeds (for example, Dobermans) instinctively bark and are very menacing ... but Rottweilers just stay quiet and slobber, licking their chops as you approach ...

Now, about Roller-Derby queens ... ah, never mind !

Great recap, Neil.

I guess many of us are the same age. I also remember exactly where I was when I heard that Jim Croce had died.
The VH1 show was good - so nice to see those old films of Jim and Ingrid.
Glad you are putting together some Croce lessons!

Neil.....you're just....  ! I did get it, in the line of what you were talking about, Croce and all, that you missed it. Thanks for remembering it eventually when you dropped my name, it was actually so cute and hilarious!!
