Hi Everyone,

We have a new addition to Acoustic Snap Shots featuring John Renbourn and Neil playing at The Los Gatos Guitar Gallery.

At the end of our workshop with John Renbourn on September 25, 1998, John and I played a couple tunes for the group. After we had tripped through Snap A Little Owl John suggested we play a little blues. He started into a riff derived from All Blues by Miles Davis and off we went.

This particular vamp had been a staple in the repertoire of the British musicians in the early days, starting with Alexis Korner and picked up by the likes of Davey Graham, Bert Jansch, and of course, John Renbourn. It even appeared on Pentangle’s live album Sweet Child as I’ve Got A Feeling.

Enjoy!

Thats too cool. Neil, I know how much of your playing came from John. It must have been the thrill of a lifetime to be able to meet and play with him. Lucky you.

I enjoyed both of the videos today. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the video. It is such a pleasure to watch John Renbourn play.

By the way, that young guy playing the Santa Cruz guitar is pretty good too! :) :)
