Trying to get back to the real world has been a little slower transition than I had hoped but things are starting
to get a little more focused, I think. This week’s News started with a little Villa-Lobos experiment, followed by a
recap of the recent releases, a few promises for the future (IGC mostly, and really only hopefully), and some
thoughts on interesting Forum threads, particularly the Song Association game and the Borrowing Music
(not to mention any particular offenders…!).

The recent releases included finishing up Chan’s FOTW lesson where Blue Sky was pretty much dissected, Vanessa’s
contributions with Pearl Jam’s Sirens and Bonfire Heart, the last of the current batch of early Beatles singles, Can’t Buy
Me Love
and I Should Have Known Better, and an easy classical Triplet Exercise In C Major.

One of the highlights of my trip to Hilo was meeting Mark Yamanaka. I hope everybody has at least checked out the post
with links to a few of his YouTube videos. I sat down with him a couple times last week and we talked and played a few
songs. This week the first 3 parts of our visit went up and tomorrow, Saturday the 23rd the Na Hoku Hanohano awards
for 2014 will be announced. Mark is up in 10 categories and the show might be available live if anybody is interested.
