Hi Everyone,

We have a new Acoustic Snap Shot today!

Ladye Nothinge’s Toye Puffe was the piece that made me aware of the range of John Renbourn’s styles, which included blues, ragtime, Renaissance, and jazz.

He was about 20 years old when he was experimenting with counterpoint in his compositions and came up with this amazing piece, among many others.

He was the biggest influence in my musical journey and I am feel very honored that we became friends almost 20 years ago. I hope you enjoy my rendition of Ladye Nothinge.

Enjoy!

Neil

I was pleased to listen to this odd sounding tune.
Thanks.

:)

Can you tell us anything about why John Rebnbourne wrote it and named it

That was beautiful. So smooth, so rhythmic. I won't lie....I've never heard the original....but I'll check it out.

Thanks Neil,

Ted

That was really interesting. I love the sound. Its a little embarrassing to think he was doing that kind of playing at 20.

I'm glad to see you playing one of Johns tunes. I'm surprised that you haven't shown us more, given that he was such a big influence on you.

Now. I'm back to Ruby's Eyes. :)
