Thanks, Sandy, that's a great idea.
It's funny, because on Fridays I play Wii golf at my brother-in-law's place (along with other members of my golf league) during the winter season. He's got a nice little Epiphone Junior electric he never uses and the past couple of weeks I've been dragging it out and going over chord changes and strumming patterns on it while awaiting my turn to hit. Since it's a solid body and unplugged it doesn't bother anyone. That sounds something like what you're recommending and I should start doing that on my own electric when I'm around the house but not actually in the studio playing.
