Lately I have been obsessed with a couple tunes that are on their way to becoming lessons. Both of which will not come as surprises to those of you who regularly tune in to the Weekly Updates. I’ll leave the rest to your guessing, although watching today will give them away.
This week new Linda Ronstadt lesson took center stage with Heat Wave and Willin’. The Willin’ lesson also looked at the original by Lowell George and Little Feat, and the first version I heard by Seatrain. I hope everybody takes a little time to check out other songs by both those bands.
Today’s video ended with a few more comments on early John Renbourn tunes, including some of the pyrotechnic phrases that John felt inspired to add to some of the pieces form his first two albums, both of which came out before he was 23 years old!
