This week I stumbled into the new Beatles tune, Now And Then, and figured I had to put together a lesson on it. It is a slightly unusual progression, or really just an inversion of an E minor chord that sets the stage for Lennon's beautiful melody. I ended up messing around with an instrumental version that became part of the lesson, as well as the opening tune for today's Update.

We added a new Student Review looking at Blue Sky by The Allman Brothers where our member Rich transposed it to the key of A. I also finished up one that you heard me mess with last week - You Set The Scene by Love. I appreciate folks who weighed in with their thoughts on the opening chord, which would just be called B11/A. The opening arpeggio using cross-picking will be a bit challenging but a lot of fun to work on and master.

We will be hosting our second Free Webinar on Saturday, November 18 at noon Pacific time. Watch for emails about it in a couple days. Info will also be on the TG Forum.

Lately I have been planning more instrumental lessons, mostly based on pop tunes from the 1960s. Today's musical excerpts came from songs by The Hollies, Gerry And The Pacemakers and The Seekers. I hope you enjoy them.
