Cat Stevens and Chord Solos were on my mind this week. I tend to go on binges of listening to a specific artist or artists. This week it was Cat Stevens and I really had a great time reliving some of his early albums. I encourage everybody to check our Mona Bone Jakon, Tea For The Tillerman and Teaser And The Firecat, as well as our Cat Stevens Lesson Pack.

And speaking of chord solos, I started today's update with snippets of Jethro Tull's Hotel California prototype, We Used To Know, and followed with a little Dylan and tips on arranging instrumentals. I was a bit time constrained, otherwise I might have gone on for an hour on the subject. I encourage you to check out our Arranging Chord Solos Package as well.

The latest instrumental I am messing with is As Time Goes By, and I ended with a rough draft of what has evolved with that since yesterday. It is looking promising and I will see where it goes soon.

If I practiced for 8 hours a day for the rest of my life I’d never get close to playing Sylvia like that. Genius
