Hey Shel. I confess that I too was expecting the Beatles tune, but I very much enjoyed what I got. I think the most noticeable thing was how well you look and how at ease you appeared in front of the camera, a far cry from a couple of years ago. I know zero about your instrument, but glad it floats your boat to play. Always good to see you as well.

Thanks everyone. You've all brought a big smile to my face this morning. You can never have too many of them. :)

Sorry about the confusing title to the busking thread. I actually did realise at one point that it might be misleading...then ...well I forgot to find another one that was more appropriate. Actually, after starting the Beatles 50th anniversary thread I did consider recording a Beatles number instead. Maybe later.

Chris - Phew I'm glad you thought it qualified for the thread title (capitalised no less) even though it wasn't a Beatles number. Well ... It's sweet and silly enough to be sort of Beatles-ish-inspired, especially with the accents on the 2nd and 4th beats. I'm glad you liked it. Got something? i've seen your songbook :) Thanks.

Willem - WOW! You're quick off the mark. I found your 'something' very relaxing. Nice one. Nice choice of guitar too, it's a sweet little thing. Thanks for rising to the challenge and I'm glad I could bring a little sunshine into your day. :)

Daryl - Thanks!!! :) :) :) :) - smiling here. I KNOW I can count on you to rise to this challenge. I'm looking forward to 'something' from you. I always love your posts. They are sweet chords, the E7 and the diminished chords really add a nice flavour to the progression. I'm glad you loved it. :)

Marc - I certainly hope you can squeeze giving us a peek at 'something' YOU'RE doing into your busy schedule. Your posts are always great fun. I'm glad you enjoyed this. My ukulele has an extra two strings. The C and A courses are doubled with strings an octave higher and lower respectively. It makes a BIG difference to the sound. It's a tenor body so that really helps with resonance too. I'm enjoying playing it. It's just tricky if you want it play individual notes on one of the double courses. If you get a chance, give a six string uke a try.

Nessa - Gosh yourself woman!   :) :) :) :) :) :) :) I'm still smiling from your response, BIG time. You definitely make recording worthwhile. An improvement you say? Yeh!!! :) :) :) Well that wouldn't have been too hard, but it's really great to hear YOU say that. I guess i had to start relaxing in front of the camera at some stage. And I'm glad you like the high Bbs. Yep I can sing high and girlie it seems. :) maybe I shouldn't have tuned the ukulele down a whole step, but I'm not ready to sound THAT girlie just yet, or start recording in the shower :) where I can go higher easily. Now I sure hope you've got 'something' up your sleeve, in fact many, many 'something's that you want to add to this thread. I'm keeping all my fingers crossed here...OK that makes typing tough :) I'm hoping you'll jump on board this band wagon. :). Thanks sweetie, you've really made my day. :) :) :) :) More assignments you say??. :) Sweetie!

Pierre - smile-inducing. Yeh!! That's great to hear B) :). Actually it's exactly why I learned this song, to put a smile on my face and those of a couple of little cuties that I'm hoping will sing along with me next time I see them. Tack on my seat, haha! Yep it sure does look like I found it. I'm glad you liked it. Got something? :)

Tom - I'm really glad it made you smile. It is a happy tune. Thanks. Something?

Al - I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sure we'd ALL enjoy hearing something from you. I know I sure would. Thanks.

Tony - Sorry for the confusion. I remember how much I enjoyed your rendition of the real 'Something'. Actually, I should learn it. From memory it's a tricky one. I can't wait to hear your banner video, I'm really looking forward to that. Want to show us a little more blues? That WOULD be something. :) thanks mate. The uke is fun and it can also be very coooool. Eddie Vedder sure works it. I wonder if SRV ever took to the uke... :)

Bob - Thanks. Great you enjoyed it. Good to hear that you might have something for us. It's been too long.

Dermot - this thread has your name all over it. :) how about showing us a little something. :). Nuked eh? Well either it's completely wrecked, or you liked it. :) thanks.

Thanks everyone. So who's sitting next to Willem in the busking circle? Bring on the 'something' s and if you can't decide which one to post, don't choose, just post more. :) let's make some music and get this place all rowdy again.

That is truly a fine performance, Shel! Dyn-O-mite! :) :side: :side:

That sucker was putty in your hands...what a performer you've become. Wish I had that kind of effortless poise!!! And while we are on the subject of things I wish I had...I haven't got the hang of that flingy-flicky right-hand technique that Hal demonstrates in video... the very same technique u execute flawlessly.
The only thing I can fling or flick is boogers. lol! B)

Good to See something from you!!

Hey thanks Cori! :) :) :) 'effortless poise, dyn O mite' :) you're a big sweetie.

Well I have absolutely NO doubt that you can do the flingy-Flicky thing. Don't think about it. Just strum however feels right. I haven't watched Hal's right hand techniques video, must do that. I generally use the nails of my second, third and pinky fingers on the down stroke ( in a Flicky way I guess sometimes) and my thumb nail on the upstroke. Just keep it light. You've got fantastic skills, you can do it. Break out the pineapple big guy. :), or whatever other instrument takes your fancy. And get that sweet wife of yours singing too, I could never hear too much from the two of you. I know I haven't heard enough of you both lately. The two I'd you really are something. Show us your stuff. :) and thanks for the giggle, booger flicker ;)

Thx all for listen to it,,I'm glad I did it 'cos everytime I missed a measer on the D chord and I was very rushing.. the song is Dylans ''forever young''.

Daryl,,Michele gave me the opportunity for introducing my new guitar James Neligan parlor size all mahogany except the fretboard..what do I think of it?well the smaller body is a nice thing and from the very first time I heard the sound I was very suprised by his rich and volume sound.even the strings stringed with it I like on this moment(ddario) I try much on it,,strumming pickin etc, of course when I bought it I had my ideas but thats for further..not gonna use it for everything..its playing very light but I think I ask the luthier for taking the action a little down,,the action is not high but!!!,,its very early to say more of it but the video says to me ''try to play a bit lighter while strumming it and more to the sound hole,, the fretboard is a bit smaller then I used to have,,thats a bit of a pain,,it asks very good finger placements....overall I'm happy that I bought it

Willem

ps.. can't wait till others ,,something''

OK here's my quick contribution. It's a little progression/noodle I'm working on. There are a couple of nice chord changes in it and a couple of huh? chord changes too. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm hearing in my head....
