Chris, I almost missed this and just happened to stumble on it and I am sure glad that I did. Wow, that 12 string sounds just great and you nailed this tune. Your playing ans singing on this were just super my friend. Thanks for a great listen on this,

Simple Game.
One of the Moody Blues early hits from 1968 also released by The Four Tops in 1972... which is the version I heard first.
This may well be the song which pointed me to the MB way back then. Anyway, It's one I have always loved but as you will see, its not necessarily that simple to cover live on an acoustic. So I've been putting bits together for a while during spare moments. I've always struggled to find some way to represent the guitar part as the rhythm is deceptive...well, for me anyway!
If you have any tips on how I could do the guitar bits better... or any other suggestions, please let me know... there's only so much you can do alone without coming to dead end.
Just audio, no video... for me the whole thing is still under construction. Sunday 5th March 2012

Chris, I am dumbfounded ... and very impressed !
So many artistic and technical aspects are mastered here. How many boy scout badges can a person earn in one swoop ?
This is a real showpiece.
Wow.

Thanks for listening and commenting Tony, Pierre and Suzi.
This is a song that got under my skin in a big way when I first heard it when I was all alone in England at school doing my A-Levels with my parents and family stationed in Germany. I know its a complex song in its original make up but its all those wonderful parts which captivated me. Its a great adventure trying to piece it together. This is 37 years later and it still fills my soul.
Suzi, I seem to have learned just as much about recording and mixing as I have about playing in the past couple of years. And I have to thank my friend Bill Haoli for the recording gear he so generously gave me which has given me a real leg-up on things. Some people are so incredibly kind. I've been putting it to good use and can now very quickly do restoration work on a track (removing hiss or noise) and reverb, edit, cut and paste and mix so that part of things now is routine. In the final mix the placing and volume of the backing of the vocals will get sorted... still need to refine and add some parts. This has been sitting around for a few months and I've just been adding bits as I go... its not really busking... more like construction.
