Bob: Great to hear that you enjoyed it Bob and that it made you laugh as well! As you could see, we certainly had more than a few laughs! :silly:

Well indeed Chris, it was about time that you got over here! Well can't blame a guy for not showing up at a party when he doesn't know that there is one going on! :S ;)

In any way, I certainly enjoyed that song, I like that type of music, so thanks for pulling it out of your closet!

Hi Chris,

Amazing what you can get with one chord a hammer on and a little walk down bass line. Very nicely done.

Vanessa and Corina that was just great. Loved the blooper video as well. Hey at least there were two of you there. I usually have a blooper very similar but I'm only talking to myself. Great fun all around. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice Chris!!! Yup all that with one chord. Nicely done!! What you neglected to tell us though was that you really are "down under" wacthing the match. I mean how else could you be wearing shorts and short sleve shirt?? Certainly not in the middle of winter in Switz. :) :) :)

Hey, thanks Chris!
I gotta say...geez, how come Donovan got all the notoriety? :(
Honestly, that sounds like most of Donovan's catalog right there...I've never
heard anyone call Donovan a poor man's anything.
(Makes you wonder how many other folks got robbed in the music world.)

TANGENT ALERT: Is it true Donovan taught John Lennon the rudiments of Travis picking?

P.S. As to the protest songs...I would say you're definitely correct they seem to have largely gone the way of the dodo...however
Billy Bragg still writes a pretty nice one from time to time.

Well I was wondering where you were hiding Chris. Now I KNOW that you've got a stack of suitable songs for this thread; you know 5...-ish chord songs. Anything you love playing that's not a brain strainer.
Shel
I hear ya Shel!

Recording schedule:
04.00 hrs Wake up not able to sleep, turn on TG on replacement iPhone after phone stolen night before. Watch entire 3 chord song thread after realising had missed it before for a whole 2 weeks!
04:30 hrs go back to sleep.
12:00 hrs respond to thread and numerous cool videos. Re-watch most vids and wonder what simple song I could play.
13:45 / 16:00 hrs Watch Liverpool beat Man United in FA Cup 4th round (yipee!)
17:00 hrs read Shel's invitation to enter thread.
18:30 hrs set up music room for quick record.
18:45 hrs record Gold Watch Blues
19:00 hrs eat Fonue and drink fine white wine.
19:45 hrs upload video to TG and sit back wait for Shel to wake up in Oz (05:45 hrs). Arrange to have brunch at home in the morning with good friend and watch final of Australian Open same time.

Gold Watch Blues by Donovan
Capo 4 played entirely on one chord (Am) with just a little 2 note walk down simulating two more chords but not playing them (C / G/). Simplest song I know (except Jambalaya).

And the award for fastest response to a challenge goes to......

...... Chris!

And the award for the best example to date of a song that epitomizes the theme of this thread goes to .....

...(oh like you don't know already B) ) .... Yes our very own wandering (or is that wondering, probably both as he is a curious fella)... Yes you guessed it .... Chris! (who can beat a single chord throughout???).

Standing ovation!

Great example and really well performed. I take my hat off to you, wait a second... I should put one on first... I take my metaphorical hat off to you. (Changed my avatar - no hat :) )

Great! Woo Hoo!

If I'd realised that you hadn't seen this thread I would have written you long ago. My bad. Sorry.

Got any more? B)

Shel

Thanks so much Mark, really glad you liked it! :cheer:

And yeah, when having bloopers with somebody else it's hilarious, when by yourself then %#$%@$#!! :S :P

Thanks again! :)
