No you don't.

We're good at lifting rocks around here.

And we LOVE rebels who just can't help put up a response even though it streeeeetches the rules of the challenge, because they have a passion that is unquenchable. Actually, I don't even think it was a real stretch since we had discussed it being a simple songs thread, rather than it being about 4 chords or less per se.

Regardless... bottom line... there's no point.

the obvious answer here of course is more uploads ;)

Michele, the funny (and good) thing about this thread is that it tends to make us look for simple tunes we already know now, or can remember having played, and probably aren't TG lessons right now.
What I find intimidating at first is that those are the songs I played before TG, with overly simple and probably wrong chords.
Come to think of it, maybe putting up a tune with an arrangement that sucks is a roundabout way of asking Neil to do a lesson !
So I'm almost settled on one anyway ... just a heads up :)

Chris, you are The Minstrel in the Gallery here ! Loved the simultaneous simplicity and intricacy of this tune. Well done.

Pierre

Like everyone else, I'm loving this thread and really enjoying the various "simple" songs that everyone is putting up. Chris- what a great Donovan song! I loved your voice so much on this one and it was cool to see how just a few embellishments can really push something out of the ordinary. Now, what is this Jambalaya song I hear talk of? :)

Vanessa,
Beautiful harmonies! Way to go. I thought that was great and it looked like you two were having a blast!

Chris,
I really enjoyed that! I feel like I need to make some sort of sign and go protest something!

Pierre,

There's no need to stress so much. It's suppose to be just for fun. And if Neil does decide to respond with a lesson then that's a good thing to be sure.

I'm actually finding that the TG lessons have helped me immensely with the simple stuff, including "The Joker". So I'm sure you will actually bring your TG learning experiences to your playing of the pre-TG tunes whether you realise it or not.

Regardless, just jump in, the water is lovely. :)

Hoping to see you soon.

MJ - the just have fun goes for you too.

M.

Chris

I’ve spent a few hours on this forum.
I had great intentions tonight (practicing) but they all went out the window.
What more can I say!
Excuses, excuses, Excuses..... mmmm !

I keep recording but far too many mistakes… it’s ugly, really terrible!

I’m going to stop wasting my time on posting pictures (was that a cheer I heard?)

Motivating and Encouraging

Dermot

Hi Dermot,
Keep practicing and recording. Don't be afraid to post. As you know, there are some very talented folks on this site. But, it's not a competition. I have uploaded probably 10-12 videos over the last 2 years, with lots of mistakes and ugly, really terrible singing and playing. But the folks on the forum are very nice and will give helpful and encouraging comments about your progress.
Go for it!

Jim

Dermot,

I second Jim's comment. Go for it indeed. You're amongst friends and it's all about the fun and learning from doing.

Hope to see you soon.
