Guys,

Back from my trip so I'm posting the upload procedure.

Firstly here is the link to the site where my account is located. Maximum file size is 200mb which should be more than enough:

http://www.4shared.com/login.jsp

1. Your video for the Doctor will need to be on your computer hard drive, for example on your desktop or pick a folder.
2. Then in the bottom left corner click the button that says "choose file" then "upload" it's that easy. The Doctor will then be able to download the files from my account.

Any problems PM me.

I am going to PM the log in details to those I know are participating. I don't want to post my email address and password for the World to see. If you don't get a PM send me one and I'll send you the details (unless I don't recognise you)

Cheers all.

Just an edit:

I've sent a heap of PMs. Please if you don't have one ask me for the log-in details. I had to send the mails individually and there is a fair chance I have forgotten someone.

Hey Guys,

I am working on our project today, and I just wanted to throw a couple of points out there. First, thanks to wandoctor for the reference track. Very, very playable. I'm pretty sure you have all noticed this too, but wandoctor's reference track plays the second line of the first harmonica part twice, where reiver's chord sheet showed it once. Otherwise, they're a match.

The second question I'm throwing out there is about the rhythm guitar playing pattern. Consider all the following: the TG lesson says accented full strum on the first beat with a glancing bass note on the second beat; wandoctor used bass notes on the first and second beats; and we will have a bass track. So, this fuels a couple of questions. Should we all play the same pattern? Should we mix and match? Should we play a version of both and experiment? I will comment here that wandoctor's double bass note affords the player more time for chord changes if anyone is struggling with them at the reference tempo.

What are your thoughts on this? Do any of our seasoned members have experience with little details like this?

I'm going to try to use my knew Kodak video cam for this, but I still haven't gotten around to buying a tripod. Since I'm assuming we're mostly going for an audio mix, does it matter if I just stick the camera near me, but pointing at the ceiling, and send that? Not the most fun to watch, probably, but I think the audio quality will be better than with my old videocam.

WRT Wrench's question, I was just trying to play a very regular, steady rhythm- down pause down down up throughout most of the song. I figured that the more experienced guitarists could play something fancier (like Wandoctor's version) and Wandoctor could mix that in. But I don't know how that'll actually sound....

I think we want to see everyone Suzi. Can you use your famous book rest? I recall Doc said that he doesn't need to see the guitar in the same manner as a video for review but wanted to see the player, preferably wearing something a bit bright (not the Johnny Cash man (or woman) in black look.

Oh we cross-posted. With regard to your steady rhythm I think that's spot on in terms of the way to approach it.

Well, the problem is that the new camera can't be rested on something like my old one. It's a "flip-style" camera, so it either needs to be held or put on a tripod or something. I'll see what I can work out. Of course I can use my old camera, but I'm not sure if the audio quality is good enough. You've listened to the videos i've uploaded so far, Tony. Do you think that's a good enough audio for this?

Bright colors, hm?? I don't know if I own bright colors ;)

Yeah I do think it will be fine, perhaps use the old one. Put it this way, it's heaps better video quality than mine, although I do think my audio is OK. Your old one will be fine.

C'mon I expect to see you in the tribute Neil Hawaiian shirt! :)
