Oh wauw, another challenge! :P

But I have to admit, it's hard to pick one...should it be a happy one, or a sad/ballad one, do you have any suggestions? Wich lovesongs do you like other than Time in a bottle?

Thanks so much for the standing ovation. That's really generous. The sections of video where I forgot the words and my voice cracked terribly because I got all blubbery hit the cutting room floor. Thank the Goddess you can just keep recording until you get an OK take. I would have kept taping to eliminate the playing errors, but my untrained voice wasn't handling the pressure. I bet you'll be the first to post. Let's see if anyone can beat you. I wonder who's up for the challenge.

Ness,

FIrstly, if I'm being annoying (with my challenges) just ignore me, or tell me straight out to wrack off. But, I get the impression you love to play and I don't appear to be the only one at TG that loves seeing your videos.

As for your questions. I definitely like or love lots of love songs (most of which I can't play yet). Some recent ones come to mind. But, some of the things I LOVE about TG are being introduced to songs I haven't heard of, being reminded of songs I've forgotten about and hearing new versions of songs I know that I catch my attention more than the original. For example, as I've said in this thread, I hadn't heard of Jim Croce until I heard Kevin play 'Time in a Bottle' and now I'm playing it myself. It's awesome.

So the real questions are:

- What are YOUR favourite love songs?, and
- What do YOU feel like playing? Sad? Happy? Somewhere in between? Any specific song?

You knew I wasn't going to answer that right? :P

Gonna think this through, we'll see!

(And nó, you're nót annoying me with challenges, it's exactly what you said, I love to play ánd I like (need) challenges! At least you've got me into working on Classical Gas, will that do as for a level-challenge??!! ;))

OK. How about a ballad? Maybe a rock ballad. There are some great ones around.

If this has you thinking 'nah I don't want to do a ballad', then I've helped to narrow the field as well. It's all good.

Michele

What a pleasure that was. Thanks for sharing that heart felt song with us. I can see you are softy.

Sure wish I could move around the fret board the way you do... You are an inspiration

Really nice, Michele. Sincerity is obvious, and a couple of especially hypnotic parts in there (interludes ?).

When you've sung it a couple hundred more times and you get beyond the words getting you choked up no matter when or where you sing it, then my my my ... how even more riveting it will be than it already is (I get choked up really easily).

OK some of these don’t completely fit the rock ballad criteria (but slow them down a little and there you have it), but here goes:

Angie - Stones
Wild horses - Stones
More than Words - Extreme
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
I was made for lovin’ you baby - Kiss
Sweet child o’ mine - Guns and Roses
This ‘aint a love song - Bon Jovi
In these arms - Bon Jovi
Love Hurts - Joan Jett
Everything I do - Bryan Adams
Somebody to Love - Queen
Love of my Life - Queen
What about Love - Heart

Take me back to the big haired ‘80s.

I’m sure I’m missing some really obvious ones.

I can't wait to hear your song.

Tammy - Thanks for being so sweet. I wish I have your singing skills. I've been enjoying the reruns of your get together with Al.

Pierre - Thanks - I'm a bit of a goosh bag (softy as Tammy noticed) - commercials can make be tear up. I guess I'll need to give up playing soppy songs when I hit menopause or I'll get seriously dehydrated.

I'm glad you liked it.

Well hello TG-friends!

Choosing a song for the 'Busking-Lovesongs'-thread wasn't very easy, gosh there are só many beautiful lovesongs! Anyway, eventually I've decided to do this one, it's a beautiful classic: 'These arms of mine' by Otis Redding and I really hope you will enjoy it!

Cheers

Vanessa
