This plus Nick's reference track (His 3rd and last one) is all you should need Mark. Is that cool?

OK I see the chord structure. Is this to a song that everyone is going to post? I know I'm wayyyyyyyyyy late to this party but wasn't sure what was going on. Looks fun. I was just trying to get an understanding as to what the song was and what I need to do to participate. Does this make sense?

It's Heart of Gold.

Go ahead and video yourself playing any part you like and post the saved video per Tovo's instructions earlier.

I'll be mashing them together into a single video on or about the 15th.

It makes sense Mark. It's the TAB to Heart of Gold. Take some time and look back through the thread and you'll get the drift I'm sure. You can play it, sing it, do harmonica, whatever you feel. Send your video to Nick (WanDoctor) using my shared account details that I will send you via PM. Nick is going to take all the inputs and mix them for a final result. Should be cool.

All make sense for you?

Got it. Thanks!! Dawn broke over my marble head.......Yeah this looks like fun. Should I do the whole thing and then you can splice the section you want or do you want me to just put out a specific section?

MarkM

Thanks for bringing me up to speed. Just didn't want to go through 250 responses to this post before I got it........

Do the whole thing dude. Play, sing, do harmonica, bass and drums if you can manage. :woohoo:

Seriously now, do the whole song, Nick will use what he sees fit.

Hey Guys,

I really am not trying to beat a dead horse, I'm just trying to get us all on the same page. Reiver's chord sheet shows the second line of the first harmonica part played once. Nick's reference track plays it twice. Since most or all of us are playing to Nick's reference track, I suggest we agree ahead of time to play it Nick's way.

Just trying to prevent anyone from working real hard from the chord sheet, and winding up a line shorter than everyone else.

Can't wait to see this come together! :cheer:

Agree Wrench, best to follow Nick's lead. It's only a very small difference but glad you raised it. I just put my own little note on Reiver's excellent TAB to remind me.

That is correct. I copied Neil Young, who may have just forgotten how many times he played it the first time around. I kinda remember forgetting a lot of stuff in the 70's. Anyway, I played it that way so that if anyone is contributing harmonica and copied NY, it will fit.

So the first time you play the harmonica break, before the first verse, it is twice through the last line. The next time you play it, between verses, the last line only gets played one time.

I just copied it from the original NY recording on Harvest, where he plays it as I've transcribed it. Seemed the best template to use as most people would want to play along with the actual song.

Either way, it won't matter. I'll cut and paste it together so it fits.

I'm sure if we looked hard enough we could find a version that has an extra verse, an extra harmonica section and a solo accordian break complete with 8 piece banjo chorus backing. B)
