Just turned on my computer on super Bowl Sunday and got 2 beatles tunes!
Great job Craig - good to see you on this thread!
And good to see daryl again too!
Busking 3 or 4 Chord Songs
Willem, I'm glad I could make your morning since you've done the same for me many times!
Michelle, Thanks for the passing notes comment. You know they normally kill any timing I might have stumbled into!
Vanessa, You are the best! I can't thank you enough! You don't charge extra for therepy do you?
Daryl, There were a few people who inspired me to do this and you were certainly one of them.... and I stayed within the 4 chord limit!
Chris, Thanks Chris! Your "comfort zone" post the other day got me to thinking...so, thank you for that. I'm trying to convence my wife that it's not the strings, it's the guitar!!
Suzi, Thank you for your support, as always. I discovered that my ability to sing is directly connected to my pinky finger! Who would have thought?
Dennis, Thank you my TG friend! I don't know what has come over me... I never suspected the wife/coffee theory, but now I will keep a closer eye on her!
Bob, Thanks for your encouragement, it helps a lot!
Pierre, Thank you for calling it singing! I think the only thing left is the birthday suit! ... which had nothing to do with "hide your love away"!
Kevin, Thanks for watching and the kind words, I really appreciate it!

I just turned my back for two minutes and the songs have kept pouring in. Just to say loving all the songs that have been put up recently, Craig and Daryl, well done and Ness you always deliver! To everyone else keep em coming! B)

Jim, Thanks for the pat on the back. Your video the other day helped give me the nudge to do it!
Daryl, I love that song. I'm glad you included the chords/lyric. It's a big help to try and play along with you and get the tempo down better.

Thanks to all of the comments on my video of Woody Guthrie's Deportee - Plane Wreck at Los Gatos
Cori The Los Gatos in the title is not Neil's Los Gatos, but 150 miles away in Fresno county. I though more people would know this song -it is based on a 1948 plane crash and the song has been covered by bob dylan and joan baez and bruce springsteen ans lots of other singers. I love Woody's guitar insignia of "This Machine kills Fascists". I don't have too many other music charts of Woody Guthrie songs, besides "This Land is Your Land" and I will pass the guitar to somebody else for that one. I am not familiar with Mermaid Avenue - I will check it out.
Daryl - I thought this 3 chord song would pass the test.
Dennis - thanks for the suggestions on strumming with a pick. I actually have lots of things I am working on and in this particular video the inner voices that were saying"Don't look at your left hand when you switch chords" and "Sing louder" crowded out the voices that say "Don't hold the pick so tight" and "Smile at the camera"
Jason - get your stuff together - enjoyed your banner video - when does it come up the coast?
Marc - thanks for the pointer to the quick tip. I will definitely be working on that!
Scott - Thanks for the comment!
Shel - yes, Nancy Griffith does this song on her CD "Other Voices,Too". I forgot about that version of it.
BobR - Thanks for the comment.
Stuart - Thanks for the comment - I enjoyed your song on this thread and looking forward to the next!
Willem - I am happy to pass the guitar on, but I have to admit this thread has encouraged me to play/practice more, so I may post yet again next week.
Chris - Yes, the pick - I will work on it
Pierre - A hard act to follow, indeed! Trust me, I am not a ninja. When I started my upload on Friday afternoon, I checked this thread. There had not been a video posted in 20hrs or any posting in 2 hours. So, I did the upload, Evidently, Vanessa was doing one at the same time and hers got in the queue first. If I had noticed another video had just been posted, I would have waited a few hours (or the next day) before posting. But as David Letterman used to say about one of his bits, Stupid Human Tricks, "It is just an exhibition. It is not a competition. Please, no wagering"

I've Just Seen A Face.... that's a great one to throw into the round for sure Daryl... rolls off your fingers with ease... and you could boom out the lyrics full blast if you like, sound pretty good to me!
We're running over with Beatle-juice this Sunday!!... (boom-chick, whomp., whomp whaaah!)
"You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" and "I've Just Seen A Face"
You never know what is gonna turn up in this thread, do ya?
Daryl-
That was a little different style of picking than we have seen out of you in the past. Really cool to see you tackle a bluegrass style like this. I thought it sounded great!! I liked the softer/lighter way you played & sung it. I thought it was
very: mellow, contemplative, and almost lullaby-like. (In a "Sweet Baby James" sorta way) Thanks for letting us
continue to see & hear you...
And I still can't belief the success of this thread! Over 6000 views in just over three weeks!
350-some replies compared to 380-some on the T.G. Banner thread. (and that sucker is 7 months old!)
If this thread keeps growing at the clip it currently is, it will overtake all the other big-ees in no time!
Michele & Daryl, YOU HAVE CREATED A MONSTER!! In the words of Dr. Frankenstein: "IT'S ALIVE!!!!"
If you think about this it is almost unheard of & unbelievable. I am still happy to be a part of it!

Craig - great to see and hear you joining in with the fun on this thread, especially with such a good bit of playing and singing of a fine song.
Daryl - you can't fool me. I turned up the volume and there you were, singing away! Clever version of another great song.
Very enjoyable to come back to these after a w/e away. Thanks guys.
